Two injured in Nanyuki plane crash
Two people are recuperating at a Nanyuki private hospital after an aircraft they were flying in crashed at Sosian Ranch in Laikipia West. According to Laikipia West OCPD Francio Nyamatari, the five seater plane crumbled and broke into three pieces soon after taking off at Samburu Buru lodge. He said this was after it rammed into the ranches communication mast.
The OCPD said the plane pilot Graham Vetch, 64, suffered bruises and compound fractures on the legs and ribs, while his companion David Macharia who is the assistant manager at the ranch was hit on the forehead.
The two occupants of the ill fated plane were rushed to Nanyuki Cottage Hospital where they are receiving treatment. The aircraft of Cessina 185 make registration number 5Y- CG had flown to the area from Soysambu in Naivasha and had been at the ranch for three days.
The wreckage has not been moved and is awaiting experts from the Civil Aviation department to probe more on the probable cause of the accident.
